And Other African Folktales

The Marian University Theatre Program will be touring central Indiana schools this spring with a wonderful play based on tales from Africa. The play is geared particularly for preschool – grade 2 students and focuses on the themes of: Diversity, Discrimination, Loss, and Acceptance. Don’t miss your chance to bring the theatre to YOU!

Indiana Academic Standards:

English/Language Arts: RL.3; RL.4; SL.1; SL.3;

Theatre: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 10

Cost: $275/performance for up to 150 students. If you have more than 150 children, you may schedule multiple performances at a discounted rate.

Performance Length: 35 minutes

Teachers at the Museum Event

Join Teachers Lounge Indy and the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art for a free afternoon exploring one of our state’s most unique museums, the opening of The Reel West exhibit, and educational programs and opportunities for schools!

Teachers receive free admission to the Eiteljorg, and on this day will receive tours of museum galleries with fun, interactive activities simulating the experience of students on a field trip! Following the tours will be a presentation by Cathy Smith, Emmy-winning costume designer for Dances with Wolves. The 1:00 talk is a special presentation as part of opening day festivities for the exhibition.

Teachers are welcome to come as early as 10:00 to experience the opening of the Eiteljorg’s new special exhibition, The Reel West, prior to the start of the program. For more information click here
