EVENT: March 14 Conversation About Education at Central Library

Conversations

Do you care about kids? Do you care about arts education?

If so, we have the perfect event for you!

Please join WFYI, the Arts Council of Indianapolis, Indianapolis Public Schools, the City of Indianapolis’ Office for Education Innovation, and IndyPL in a Conversation about Education at Central Library on March 14 from 6:00 – 7:30 pm.

Using data provided by 1,200 teachers, 66 schools and 53 arts organizations, panelists will provide the foundation for creating expanded high-quality art opportunities for K–8 students in Indianapolis Public Schools and area charter schools. This conversation will be moderated by WFYI’s Sharon Gamble, co-host of Art of the Matter on 90.1. Be sure to attend this discussion to learn more about arts education and the Any Given Child Indy initiative in collaboration with The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

Crayon & Craft Beer at Mass Avenue Pub on 2/16/16

Have you been wondering how you can get more involved with Any Given Child Indy? Well, now’s your chance! Mass Avenue Pub will be hosting their monthly Crayon & Craft Beer night on Tuesday, February 16 beginning at 5 pm. Each month, Mass Avenue Pub hosts this event and donates proceeds to a beneficiary. This month, they chose the Arts Council of Indianapolis!

The Arts Council of Indianapolis will be receiving $1 of each Flat12 Bierwerks pint that is sold that evening. Through the money collected from Crayon & Craft Beer Night, we plan to fund another $500 mini-grant to an IPS school for arts-related activities. As you may remember, last month, 6 IPS schools were awarded $500 mini-grants courtesy of the Central Indiana Community Foundation. Please consider attending Crayon & Craft Beer Night on Tuesday in order to ensure at least one more school can receive a mini-grant for arts-related activities. This event is for those 21 and older.

If you are unable to make Tuesday night’s event or are interested in making a personal donation to fund a $500 mini-grant, the Arts Council of Indianapolis will be hosting an online crowd-funding campaign on power2give entitled Crayon & Craft Beer. If you would like to make a financial contribution to fund a mini-grant, please visit the campaign’s page on power2give.org beginning Tuesday, February 16 at 8 am. The final day to make a donation is Friday, February 26.

Please share this news with friends and family! By making a small contribution to this campaign on power2give.org or by attending Crayon & Craft Beer Night on Tuesday, February 16, you will help to make a difference in students’ arts education at an IPS school this year.

If you are interested in attending Tuesday and want more information, take a look at the Crayon & Craft Beer Facebook event hosted by Mass Avenue Pub.

Mass Avenue Pub is located at 745 Massachusetts Avenue.
